Fall is finally here!

 shirt: forever 21
cardigan: forever 21
pants: zara
shoes: aldo
earrings: aldo

Fall has finally arrived, and that means i get to dress warmer with cardigans and sweaters. I really like this outfit because it's dressed up and comfortable at the same time. I paired this wonderful cardigan with this really nice collared tank top. I love the lace on the shoulders of the tank top, it just gives it a little more of a dressed up feel. To complete the outfit i added the gold bangles and the jaguar studs. This outfit was really warm and cozy perfect for the fall weather.

Leopard print and peplum

 Shirt: H&M
Dress: Sirens
Shoes: Night Market
Necklace: Forever 21
This outfit is really fun and nice at the same time. I paired this leopard print tank dress with a grey peplum shirt to add another dimension to the outfit. I chose to wear this awesome necklace to add a little sparkle to the outfit and dress it up a bit more. To top it off I wore tights and these black suede, platform, lace-up wedges. I think this outfit would be great for many different occasions depending on how you chose to wear it.

black and gold and spikes

 shirt: Forever 21
skirt: Topshop
shoes: The Bay
bracelets: Aldo
headband: Forever 21
rings: Forever 21

Some things about this outfit:

the great thing about having three sisters is having four closets to choose an outfit from. Amrit has also worn this maxi skirt in a comfy way I decided to dress it up a bit.

this high low shirt has been my favourite top for the summer, I love tucking it in whether it be with this maxi skirt or a pair of shorts

As you all can tell I clearly have a love for spikes, these bracelets are my favourite accessories right now

the story behind the heels -this is my first pair of heels that I bought for my graduation. I'm still getting used to walking in them

I have a passion for nail art as you can tell by the second last photo. I'm thinking about doing some nail art blog posts on here.

the last hurrah of summer

Collared Sheer top-Forever 21
Maxi dress- Forever 21
Necklace- The Bay
Shoes- The Bay
Earrings -Vintage

It always seems to happen every September in Vancouver, right when you think the rain is here to last, a week of unexpected high's of 26 grace us. And although we are all excited that we get to fight off the inevitable cold and wet 9 months, it takes us a while to peek our heads out of the anticipation of rain (and heavy rain boots), to have complete acceptance of the fact that you will not be needing your umbrella and to eventually acclimatize. So what is my point you are thinking and how does this relate to clothes? My point is that this middle period of unexpected-heat-unexpected-rain leaves me confused, standing in front of my wardrobe wondering what would be appropriate to wear.

But this middle weather and last hurrah of summer also means that I get to layer more. It means I get to mix and match light knits with summer dresses---most of all it means I get to finally wear boots. Even though I didnt do any of that here, it means I can wear what I want to with out feeling too hot or too cold!

Wide leg pants and loafers

Shirt: Forever 21
Pants: Forever 21
Shoes: Forever 21
Earrings: The Bay
Sunglasses: Ray Ban

I recently purchased these wide leg pants and I love them! They are so much fun to wear while at the same time being comfy and lightweight for a warmer day. The pattern on them is fun and the colour is a nice everyday colour. I chose to pair them with a simple black 3/4 sleeve shirt, but I could always wear a crop top or even a nice peplum shirt would work. I finished the outfit with my black suede loafers, which I love! You could wear loafers with almost anything! You could even pair them with socks (which are one of my favourite things.) Since I decided to wear the outfit on the simple side, I added a little pizzazz with my elephant earrings and red lipstick.

the last warm days of summer

tank top: forever 21
skirt: Billabong
shoes: h & m
rings: forever 21
earrings: Aldo
headband: forever 21

Now that summer is coming to an end, I thought I would embrace the last warm days and wear this great outfit. This outfit is very comfortable and perfect to wear to school. I paired the grey high-waisted skirt with the bright mint crochet tank top (last time I paired it with shorts), and to finish off the outfit I wore my plain white sneakers. I also added in the cute bow headband to complete the outfit.
* thanks to faye roco for the nominating us for the liebster award and abhi mehta for passing on the sunshine award to us!

creamy macaroni and cheese

I would like to share with you one of my favourite dishes, macaroni and cheese! This recipe is so delicious that even when you are super full you will dive in for another serving. With the right amount of cream, crunch of the bread crumbs and the juice of the tomatoes, this will definitely leave you salivating for more. This is a quick recipe that really doesn't take too much time to prepare.  I've listed certain amounts for the seasonings, but really season to taste, if you like a little more spice go ahead and add more cayenne chili powder.

Macaroni and Cheese
serves 4 ppl

Temp: 375
15-20 min

60 ml margarine
60 ml flour
4 ml salt
400 ml milk
300 ml grated cheese
300 ml macaroni
30 ml breadcrumbs
20 ml melted butter
1/2 diced tomato
season to taste with 1/2 tsp parsley, 1/2 salt and 1/2 pepper
a pinch of powdered cayenne chili
1/2 tsp garlic powder

  1. Set oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a small casserole dish
  2. Fill saucepan 1/2 full of water. Add a few grains of salt. Bring water to a boil
  3.  Add the macaroni to the boiling water. Stir so the macaroni doesn't stick together. Do not cover. Bring to a boil again. Cook until macaroni is al dente (soft but still keeps its shape)
  4. Drain the macaroni. Do not rinse.
  5. Melt the 20 ml of margarine in a custard cup in the microwave for 30 seconds. Add the crumbs and mix. Set aside.
  6. Dice 1/2 tomato, set aside.
  7. In a saucepan, on very low heat, add the 60 ml of margarine. When margarine is melted, add the flour and 2 ml of salt and stir for 1 min.
  8. Gradually add the milk using a whisk to mix.
  9. Cook on medium heat. Whisk constantly until the mixture thickens and forms a sauce.
  10. Remove from the heat and add the grated cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted. Add the seasonings: parsley, salt and pepper, cayenne powder and garlic powder.
  11. Add the macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir until the macaroni is coated with the sauce. Pour mixture into the prepared casserole dish and top with buttered crumbs.
  12. Bake for about 15 mins, add the diced tomatoes, spread them on top, and bake another 5 mins or until the cheese sauce is bubbly and the crumbs are light golden brown. Serve and Enjoy!

fun, floral and fantastically coral

Blazer-Primark (U.K.)
Collared Dress- H&M
Behind the collar necklace- Macy's

The number of summer days that are remaining are becoming more and more scarce, especially nice ones, so a night out at the fair called for a fun, floral and fantastically coral outfit! Although wearing a dress caused a moment of panic when Harnoor persuaded me to go on Atmosphere (a ride thats like the swings but much farther up and faster) this outfit managed to be the perfect fit for live music, food testing, fair-games and rides.

a sweater for the fair

sweater: forever 21
shirt: forever 21
leggings: H&M
sandals: merrell

Making it out to the fair every year was somewhat a tradition growing up.  It's a great way to spend a day with your family.  The best part of the fair for me is the food and the free concerts. Because of the great selection of food available like mini doughnuts, whale tails, baked potatoes, and the addition of some food carts at the fair this year, boy was I full by the end.

We went on a fairly cold day for summer, it drizzled a bit.  I decided to wear my new neon tribal pattern sweater. There is something about this sweater that I just like and I'm not sure what it is. I don't know whether it's all the weird colours together, or how comfy it is, but I love it.  Pairing it with a long shirt and leggings I was comfortable for what the fair had to offer, from rides to the marketplace.  In all it was a fun day spent at the fair!
