Twiggy T-Shirt: Greenwich Market England
Salwar (bottom): India
Bangles: India
Punjabi Juthi (shoes): India, a bazaar in Amritsar, Punjab
Kareena Kapoor in the movie Jab We Met - Her character wears a t-shirt with a salwaar for the beginning of the movie. This is noted as one of the most iconic and trendsetting looks in India.
So we decided to mix it up a little here and include some Indian fashion into our blog! since our parents are from India, we have visited many times and grew up with bollywood films. one of my fav movies is Jab We Met, starring Kareena Kapoor. In the beginning of the movie her character, Geet, dons a tshirt with a salwaar. Traditionally the salwaar is worn with a kurta, which is a long traditional shirt. Kareena's character put a different twist to this traditional wear by pairing the salwar instead with a long tshirt. So really, all you need to do to get Kareena Kapoor's Jab We Met tshirt and Salwaar look is to find a long tshirt and pair it up with a salwaar, or if you don't have a salwaar, you can always replace it with some harem pants! Oh and don't forget the shoes, they are the traditional shoes from Punjab, India, called a punjabi juthi.
