so edgy about leather + tribal

One of the things that I am so glad with as of lately in terms of fashion trends is the love of leather. And I don't mean in the sense of 80's rockstar leather pants, or cowboy leather chaps or even the leather that upholsters your new car and makes you smell of leather the whole day! I mean in the sense of being able to incorporate leather detailing in to your outfit like this vest, or a skirt or even trims, pockets and bracelets.
Also, on a side note, I decided to straighten my hair, something I rarely ever do (like I can count the times that I have done so...believe me its a number thats under the amount of fingers you have) and it made me realize...perhaps my hair is too long? Time for a haircut---I think so! ( I am also missing my bangs)

This outfit is truly the perfect outfit for me. I love wearing crewnecks because they are so comfortable, and with this outfit i am able to  dress up a plain black crewneck by adding a velvet ruby skirt. I love how by simply adding a skirt dressed up the whole outfit. I also put on a pair of my favourite shoes, my spiked loafers! And to complete the outfit I accessorized with some jewelry.

I love wearing my bomber jacket from H&M because it's so warm and I love the way it looks so I always think of new ways of wearing it. I decided this sequined collar shirt would pair well with my bomber especially since the collar could peek out over the jacket.

Recently it has gotten pretty cold here in Vancouver. It has been minus temperatures these past few days. Since its been pretty cold out I needed to wear some clothes that kept me nice and warm and this oversized sweater was perfect. I wore this black winter coat on top to keep me warm. And to complete the outfit I added this Crawford clan Tartan scarf that my sister Prabh bought from Scotland when she was traveling there. I also accessorized with my new mid finger ring from topshop.

Veggie Ground Sabzi Recipe

veggie ground sabhji

So remember how I used some Mexican style veggie ground to make veggie tacos? In this recipe my mom used some original veggie ground (not the Mexican style one), added some Indian spices to it and turned it into a Indian Food Recipe.  Not only is this delicious but it's also very healthy! I love this veggie ground stuff, it's so versatile. It can be used to make all sorts of cuisine, from Mexican to Indian! Who said vegetarian food has to be boring? So here is the recipe to what I call "Veggie Ground Sabzi":

veggie ground sabhji recipe

veggie ground sabhji

In a small food processor add some garlic and ginger enough so it will yield about 1 tbsp

Once the garlic and ginger start to brown add the sliced onion

You know when you get that new piece of clothing and you want to wear it all the time? You keep thinking of all the different outfit combinations with it, you try and style it with everything you wear? Yeah, thats what I have been doing with this ruby velvet skirt from Joe Fresh... I might need someone to claw it away from me! I have worn it for Christmas parties, to school, for dinner...I think its absolutely perfect for everything!
I was also, earlier in the year, in the same type of relationship with the floral top I am wearing and I styled it quite differently in the blog post How to do Pattern on Pattern:

Is there a new piece of clothing from the New Year you are slightly (but still healthily) obsessed with?
