Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Review

Looking for romance, friendship, tears, laughter, coming of age, great songs, dance and beautiful costumes? Well you've got it all in this movie!

After a long time a good romance  bollywood movie has come out. And since it's been a long time it felt refreshing! Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Barfi and Kai Po Che, and often tell friends that put down bollywood to try these movies out and see how bollywood has moved away from the love triangles of the late 90's and early 2000's.  But you got to admit bollywood does romance the best! And with the new generation of filmmakers such as Ayan Mukherjee, bollywood has proven with this movie that they can still do romances, songs and dances, but now they can do it better.  Instead of the external conflicts of parents or class that used to be present in the romances of yesteryear's, you find internal conflicts that the characters need to overcome.

Breaking into the 100 crore club, it is obvious I'm not alone in loving this movie.  Although there is probably initial interest in the movie since ex flames Deepika and Ranbir are together for the first time after their breakup, the movie holds strong because of the fabulous acting by the four actors in the movie and the movie making by Ayan Mukerjee.  I can't ever say enough about my fav Ranbir Kapoor.  He is definitely living up to his family legacy, and does it again in this movie. proving to audiences that not only is he a great actor but a great dancer as well! Deepika Padukone has quickly become one of my favourite female actors.  Along with Cocktail and now this movie, she has really shown her acting abilities.  And yes I'm one of those fans that is just dying for Deepika and Ranbir to get back togehter! Kalki and Aditya Roy Kapur were perfect for the supporting roles and great actors themselves.  Having loved Ayan Mukerjee's Wake Up Sid, I was looking forward to this movie and he didn't disappoint.  I think he fits perfectly with the Dharma Productions banner, and is a great new generation bollywood director and storyteller.

So if you haven't already, I would definitely recommend checking outYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
