Catch Up

In Mykonos

I last left you with this post. Since then lots has happened in my life and lots has not happened. Let's just say that "life is a journey and not a destination" has been something I have had to constantly remind myself. To be present in the present even when the present is not pleasant is another aspect of life I have been trying to adapt. But the best part of life right now? I have been reunited with my best friend and sister Prabh! After a couple of years apart (first I went off to grad school in the UK, and then the following year she went off to the UK) we are finally back in the same home and city!

So here is what I have been up to as of late:

1. Went away for grad school in the UK.  I lived abroad and away from home for the first time in my life. I also spent the entire summer researching and writing my dissertation (let's just say I still am recuperating from that!).

2. The struggle with my mental and physical health reached it's peak.  I began the year with an illness that soon turned into this never ending tiredness and lack of energy. Not only was my body burnt out but so was my brain. After the previous year my body and mind couldn't and wouldn't push through anymore.

3. I travelled a lot. Last fall I travelled to India and England, visiting Prabh in Oxford. Then this summer again I found myself in England but also Greece! The islands of Greece are AMAZING! Not only the food or the Mediterranean sea, but the people are just AMAZING.

I am so glad to be back blogging in action. I truly missed this space in my life. I hope to connect with you on our instagrampinteresttwitterfacebook, and snapchat (@footnotesnfinds)

New Beginnings

Sometimes life is stagnant, other times its a static pulse of everything simultaneously colliding. But at rare times, in the stagnancy, you get the clear break to take the leap and move forward. In stagnancy, everything is slow motion and every movement an earth shattering intrusion. Maybe I was wrong to separate the two, when really stagnancy is a moment of clarity amongst the static mess of life and if I may stop the existentialist rambling, I will say that no matter the pace you are at in your life it is important to realize that nothing is the same ever again.

Back in January, Tript provided an honest update about where we both were in life and also discussed what she wished the direction of the blog to be. Since then we both have graduated from Masters programs and have found ourselves at a stagnant period in our lives where there is no work and no school to pre-occupy our creative time and we decided it was time to take the leap with our blog and provide content more self-reflective of who we really are, what we really do and what we really love.

In the meantime we welcome you back into our lives and hope that you connect with us on our instagram, pinterest, twitter, facebook, and snapchat (@footnotesnfinds)
